Treherne Elementary School is a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school, located in Treherne, Manitoba on #2 Highway midway between the cities of Winnipeg and Brandon. Treherne Elementary School is a part of the Prairie Spirit School Division. Our students come from the catchment areas of Treherne and Rathwell. We take pride in offering our students a quality education before moving on to Treherne Collegiate located directly south of our building.
Our staff and students provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. In addition to striving for academic success, we provide many opportunities for our students to participate in extra curricular activities.
The school features a large gymnasium, and a unique multi-purpose room that is multi functional. The stage opens into the gym thus having the dual purpose of acting as a stage for concerts and a spectator area for sporting events. T.E.S. also has a large science/art room, a library and a computer lab.
The playground space is well equipped with a play structure, asphalt area, baseball diamonds, soccer pitches, out-door volleyball court and tetherball area.
The students at Treherne Elementary School are champions just like the athletes that represented our Country at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.
An ambitious goal of 45,000 minutes of reading to equal the 45,000km of the Olympic Torch Relay was set for students to achieve by the end of February.
As our reading month passed, day by day, the reading torches were handed in to teachers and the flames raced their way around the hallways until they went around all four halls. The bulletin board filled up with pictures of students participating in the many events of this past month. Reading goals were achieved and the flames kept decorating our halls.
A HUGE congratulations goes out to all of you students for Believing you could read enough for Mrs. Lee to GO RED!!
