TES Mentor groups are cross-age groupings with one staff member as advisor to each group of 6 or 7 students. The groups meet monthly to do activities together. The activities are based on issues such as bullying, respect, responsibility and above and below the behaviours. In December the groups sit down together for a festive turkey dinner with all the trimmings in a beautifully decorated gym. Special guests are often invited. In April we observe Earth Day by going out in the community and cleaning up litter.
These mentor groups contribute to a sense of belonging, school support and a feeling of community as we work in co-operative groups.
